Hypomelanistic animals are on the opposite side of the melanism spectrum and expresses reduced melanin ( black pigment) production, unlike amelanism where there is no melanin production. The Pythons still display their colour and pattern but it is a lot lighter than normal individuals. In most cases their colour and pattern becomes in distinct as they mature.
